Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating provides the most comfortable even warmth of any heating system. It is very economical to run and is virtually maintenance free. The system works by having water pumped from a boiler to a pump pack where it is mixed to approximately 50 to 60 degrees celsius then distributed via a manifold to heating circuits (the number of circuits is dependant on floor area size). The floor area is warmed to a temparature normally ranging from 23 to 27 degrees thus providing an even distribution of heat at just above room temperature. The system is normally controlled by individual room thermostats which signal the pump pack when heat is required.
Underfloor Heating systems offer many benefits which include:
- It is simple to install
- The system uses radiant heat, the most comfortable form of heating
- The sysem is unobstructive and space saving
- The system is virtually silent when running
- Dust is minimised reducing the problem of house dust mites
- Designed to operate at lower temperatures than radiator systems, making them especially suitable for condensing boilers, resulting in reduced energy consumption and lower heatloss
- The system is easy to control and is virtually self-regulating
- It is suitable for use with the most environmentally friendly heating systems including solar power and heat pumps
Floor Finishes:
- Underfloor heating systems are suitable for most floor finishes including ceramic tiles, carpets, vinyl and laminates.
